Round 1
Analysis
Not too many surprises in Round 1. It's all about the running backs in fantasy football and everyone unanimously agrees. Ahman Green slipping to the 5th pick is a little surprising, and Travis Henry ahead of Stephen Davis and Corey Dillon is questionable, but getting a big name running back was not. Brad doesn't seem to be afraid of Jamal Lewis' imposing jail time either, but we all know juries love professional athletes. Pretty solid picking overall.

Round 2
Analysis
Running backs again dominated the round with 6 picks going to the ball carriers. This means that half the league drafted two running backs in the first two rounds. Not surprising to see Marvin Harrison and Peyton Manning taken as the first WR and QB respectively. Tiki Barber at the 19th pick is a little questionable with new QB's in New York. But Dave Meyer's looking very strong with Priest Holmes and Culpepper as his first two picks and I also like the combination of Manning and McAllister for Gary. We'll see how it shapes up for everyone else as they round out their positions.

Round 3
Analysis
The consecutive run on QB's officially begins with Vick and has Gary stealing him one pick before I would have taken him and probably a few others in the round. The combination of McAllister, Manning and Vick is a pretty scary fantasy triumvirate for Mr. Bellinger. Running backs for the third straight round still get the majority of the picks. Terrell Owens should be the steal of the round for J.E. Again, not many surprises from the picks in this round. Depth at RB is still the strategy most of us are running with--pun intended.

4.47 Dave Meyer D Staley, RB, Pittsburgh
4.48 JE Hanson W Dunn, RB, Atlanta

Bill Bowen's
Round 4
Analysis
I really like the pick of Duce Staley here with the perpetual run of RB's continuing. He's projected as a 6th-7th round pick in most drafts but a change of scenery in Pittsburgh could take him back to his 1,000 yard season of just 2 years ago. Great bit of a gamble for Dave who is having quite a draft. Joe Horn was also a great pick for Chris with the 41st pick overall. Favre may be a little questionable as a 4th rounder but he always plays and performs and it's Brian's 2nd QB taken so far so he's going against the grain a little bit and it could turn out to be a good move.

Bill Bowen's
Round 5
Analysis
I love the pick of Aaron Brooks here by Dave (again). The guy's loading up. I'm also happy with my pick, for a change, of Boldin in this round. The guy's a star at WR. Eddie George appears to be a big gamble by Mike in this round. George is still unsigned--the Titans want him to take less money--and he may be cut outright. Even if he signs with another team, there's not much reason to expect George to be worthy of a 5th round pick.  I think Gary improves again with Moulds for his first WR and Phil also improves with Koren Robinson.

6.61 Jen Hamilton A Johnson, WR, Houston
6.62 Phil Gentles P Burress, WR, Pittsburgh
6.63 Jihad Hatem A Toomer, WR, NY Giants

6.66 Brad North P Price, WR, Atlanta
6.67 Mike Nagy R Anderson, RB, Dallas
6.68 Brian Kreklau C Buckhalter, RB, Philadelphia
6.69 Bill Bowen L Suggs, RB, Cleveland
6.70 Gary Bellinger T Wheatley, RB, Oakland
6.71 Dave Meyer C Chambers, WR, Miami
6.72 JE Hanson J Shockey, TE, NY Giants

Bill Bowen's
Round 6
Analysis
For the first time I have to question one of Gary's picks and
Tyrone Wheatley here. Wheatley is gaining momentum going into the season, but there are a lot of other RB's still out there that seem more dependable for this round. He's also 32. I really, really like Kris's pick of DeShaun Foster. Could turn out to be one of if not THE best steal in the draft.  Suggs is a gamble but not bad for my 4th RB especially with no imminent return of William Green in sight. He's depth or trade bait this early. It's really hard to swallow another 32 year old unproven Cowboy RB in this round of Richie Anderson. Again, depth I'm sure is the objective, but there are still some decent RB's around (Duckett, Foster--who were both picked after Anderson.) Chambers, Toomer and Burress are all excellent picks at this
stage.

Bill Bowen's
Round 7
Analysis
This round was dominated by receivers. The guys I am high on here are Javon Walker (JE), Stallworth (Brian), Rodgers (Chris) and Winslow (Mike). You know what you're getting from Bruce and Porter here--don't expect more. And McCardell is certainly worthy of a 7th round pick--if he
plays... His agent has said McCardell is prepared to sit out this year if his contract is not restructured. Buyer beware.
