1) Lions -3 1/2 vs. Redskins

JUSTIFICATION: The Lions have struggled of late but the Skins have really stunk up the joint. The Lions used to struggle on the road, but appear to have fixed that problem. Where they used to win at home, they have struggled a bit this year, going 1-2. The Skins are the prefect team to help right that statistic. Roy Williams looks like he will be back this week, after missing last week's game, which will help to hold off a pretty good Skins defense. If the Lions are to be believed, they have to show resiliency after a tough loss. I think they are for real.


2) Chiefs -3 @ Bucs

JUSTIFICATION: The Chiefs appear to have fixed their offensive problems, scoring over 100 points in the last two weeks. The Bucs got a shot of confidence by playing well the last couple of weeks. However, they still have very little in the way of offensive power and, even though they are going up against a weak Chiefs defense, I doubt they will be able to score many points. The Chiefs will be going up against a solid Bucs defense and should be able to wear them down. I expect the Chiefs to pull away in the second half and win by at least a TD.


3) Giants -9 vs. Bears

JUSTIFICATION: The Giants bounced back nicely last week, after a very tough loss. This shows me that they have enough intestinal fortitude to withstand the rigors of the mental highs and lows required in a long season. The Eagles have a couple of tough games against Pittsburgh and Dallas so, the Giants with a win this week and next week, versus, Arizona, could potentially take over first place in the NFC East. That should be motivation enough to put a very week Bears team away this week.


4) Jets -3 vs. Bills

JUSTIFICATION: The Jets almost lost to the Bills earlier this season. They may have been guilty of overlooking and underestimating the Bills. I don't think that will happen again this week. I expect the Jets to go into this game with every intention of showing the world that they are a Super Bowl caliber team and a loss to the Bills, or even another tough fought last minute victory would not serve their purpose. Expect an all out effort by the Jets this week.


5) Browns +6 @ Ravens

JUSTIFICATION: The Browns put a lot of pressure on the Ravens in their first meeting. They created a lot of turnovers and sacks. The Ravens don't have a good offense, and when they are forced to overcome those kind of mistakes, they are a decidedly mediocre team. The Browns were embarrassed by the losses to the Ravens last year and I don't think the sting of all those rushing yards has left their mouths. I expect the Browns to put forth another inspired effort and actually think they will win this game, straight up.
