1) Chargers -5 vs. Bucs

JUSTIFICATION: The Chargers are playing great football of late. So have the Bucs but, the Bucs seem to have a problem playing well on the road when they have to travel to the west coast. They only have about a 25% win rate when traveling west of the Mississippi. There is no real logical reason for this anomaly. Its just one of those funny little stats that keep coming up.  Look for the Chargers to control the ground game and the time of possession. The result will be at least a 10 point victory.


2) Panthers -6 1/2 vs. Rams

JUSTIFICATION: The Rams have to travel and play in a non-domed stadium.  The Rams traditionally don't play well in these conditions, especially late in the year. Their mental psyche and unfavorable playing conditions are not what they want to endure playing a Panther team that appears to have turned things around of late. Look for the Panthers to dominate this game.


3) Ravens -10 vs. Giants

JUSTIFICATION: The Giants quit on Jim Fassell late last season and are showing all the signs of doing it again this year. They are starting a rookie QB going up against the most dominant defense in the NFL. The Ravens still have something to play while the Giants, who still technically have a shot at the playoffs, realistically don't. Look for the Ravens to get out to a fast start which will destroy whatever hope the Giants have and they will quit again. That will be enough to make this an easy cover.


4) Vikings -6 1/2 vs. Seahawks

JUSTIFICATION: The Vikes have stumbled a bit of late, especially last week with an embarrassing loss to the Bears, on the road. But, the Vikes play much better at home and playing a Seahawk team that appears to have lost its will to play is just what the doctor ordered. Look for the Vikes to turn it around this week.


5) Colts -10 @ Texans

JUSTIFICATION: This is a tough game to pick. The Texans seem to play much better at home but the Colts have been playing like a team possessed of late. They also have the added motivation of trying to run up the score a bit and allow QB Manning to at least tie Dan Marino's TD record. I'm looking for the Colts to continue their solid play and score over 40 points in this game. Hopefully, that will be enough for them to cover the high number on the road.
