NCAA Week 14 Selections

1) Pittsburgh -7 @ South Florida

JUSTIFICATION: Pittsburgh controls there own destiny. They saw what can happen if a favorite underestimates an opponent as is what happened last week in the BC/Syracuse game. South Florida lost any bowl hopes, by losing, last week. They are just playing out the string. This isn't a big rivalry game so I expect they will just play out the string. The inconsistencies of QB Julmiste will be their undoing once again. The Panthers will be highly motivated and should win this game by at least 14 points.


2) USC -23 @ UCLA

JUSTIFICATION: The Trojans showed absolutely no compunction to run up the score last week against Notre Dame, much to my chagrin. I won't make the same mistake again. They have even more motivation to do so against their cross-town rival this week. Look for an all out effort on both sides of the ball and a late score to cover this big number.


3) Auburn -15 vs. Tennessee

JUSTIFICATION: If there is one team that needs to run up the score this weekend, its Auburn. The chances that they can move into the #2 spot in the BCS rankings are slim but the only chance they have is to completely decimate Tennessee. Tennessee has not played well of late against mediocre to bad opponents. They won't be as lucky this week. The Tigers will pour it on early and often.


4) California -24 1/2 @ Southern Mississippi

JUSTIFICATION: California is very wary of Texas jumping over them and taking a BCS slot away. They cannot afford to win by 21 points. They have to win and win big to ensure they maintain their position. Look for an explosive performance and a win in the 30+ point range.


5) Oklahoma -22 vs. Colorado

JUSTIFICATION: Colorado is tickled pink to even be in this game. They got their Christmas present early this year with Iowa State losing last week.  The emotional ups and downs of the last two weeks will drain this team and Oklahoma is just too powerful, in all aspects of the game, to slip up in this game. This could be a blowout of epic proportions.
